Visualisation Success for Urban Renewal Projects
The proposed redevelopment of the Dick Lovett car showroom received planning consent whilst the former Homebase site was approved at Appeal by the Planning Inspectorate following a Public Inquiry.
Both sites form part of the Bath Western Riverside and comprises mixed-use schemes of residential and commercial uses, with public realm and access enhancements. The visualisations illustrated how the proposals would integrate with the local area and with the emerging wider renewal projects of the Enterprise Area.
The Verified Views prepared for Guild Living by NPAVisuals were accepted by all parties as being sound and prepared in accordance with best practice. We were acknowledged by B&NES Officers during the Inquiry as “a long-established and highly regarded firm.” Our VVM work was referenced by the Planning Inspector in his report and assisted him in the determining the effects of the development.
Our work on the Dick Lovett site included the creation of several CGIs to demonstrate how the proposals would improve and enhance the area over time. These images included a greater level of detail that focused on areas, such as the proposed courtyards and elevated public open spaces. The images also show the proposed development at different times of the day and year to provide a more varied visual overview of how the future developments will look and function.
